Demand from home buyers outstripping supply

18 January 2017

Now’s the time to sell, says Jones & Chapman

If you want to sell your home in 2017, now is the time to get your property on the market according to local estate agency Jones & Chapman.

As part of its national network Sequence, Jones & Chapman has recorded 12 buyers for each new property coming onto the market since the start of the year* and, with so many motivated buyers in the market, is advising customers to take advantage of the heightened competition for properties:

“Now is a prime time to sell your property as high demand continues to outweigh supply,” says David Plumtree, Group Estate Agency Chief Executive at Sequence.  “The new year is typically a time when people start making plans for the future, and we have seen an influx of people registering their interest in a new home, vying for properties to buy.  Indeed, our data suggests we have 8% more registered buyers than last year.** Sellers should make the most of this active market and look to instruct an agent who can place their property in front of the most potential buyers and reach the best price.”

If you have a property to sell and would like to arrange a free market appraisal on your home, contact your local branch.
